self love

it is unhealthy to NEED another person, or NEED anything outside of the self for fulfillment.

human beings are social creatures and that LOVE is a basic need. Babies who are not touched and nurtured will DIE without love. Is this because they are incapable of self-love?

seeking love or affection or approval from an outside source will ultimately prove futile and heartbreaking. The love of a partner can never fill that hole that many of us feel in our hearts. Not permanently, anyway.

I believe there is a balance of loving yourself, receiving love, and giving love. I think where I have seen the need for love go wrong is when a person puts that need above all else, including the needs of the person they claim to love.
