Who ever has the power to define love? In my years of human existence, I haven’t came across a perfect definition of what love is. From the volume of books, the greatest of poets or from the mightiest of kings. Simply said, love is a feeling so powerful which enables anyone who is stricken by it to know and feel what it is from the loveliest and the mightiest of man. The essence of love is angelic mystery. In our human capacity, we hardly comprehend it and despite our inability to understand it, we are compelled to seek it and when we find it, we readily recognize it, feeling its power overwhelming us. Ii is amazing how total strangers can be drawn to each other by the power of love. It is a mighty feeling that enables two human beings to come together in communion with each other to share life, grief, joy, labor, laughter, sorrows and even pain.
So mysterious is love that its presence can not be seen but felt and recognized yet can’t be described. No spoken words are needed to express and let it be known. It can be manifested in a woman whose eyes can speak of the truth that she is in love. So powerful it nourished the spirit yet its loss and absence can break the heart. No matter what it brings man never stops seeking it and when found nourished and nurtured its essence is felt in the silence of one’s soul. While many lives have been lost in the name of love, many souls have found new hope and many lives restored to seek and experience love anew. No matter what it takes, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Love makes one beautiful and alive. It makes one feel good and wonderful. It enables one to walk on clouds and hang suspended in air. It makes one daring and courageous, defies rules and risk al dangers in sought of it. Sometimes the eyes refuse to see and opt to be blind to flaws and defects, age and race. Many times people in love become crazy and delirious so care should be taken as love can easily kill.
As love is timeless and ageless, let us not be ruled by its inexplicable powers to either destroy or ruin life but be swayed by its life giving and restoring power. Let us be wise in giving and receiving love. Inspired by Christ’s teaching on love and loving which is also the reason why we have been created and become His most precious possessions.
